A start, but a lot of good basic info missing.

You haven't exactly got the greatest examples to follow, could've worked on them more. You were also quite broad by saying to draw very well before you start animating, what should they draw specifically? How about life drawing/figure drawing? Give examples, talk about where they might search, etc.

At the end of the tutorial you should've mentioned other means to learn animation, say for instance books they might get. For example: Animation Survival Kit, Character Animation Crash Course, etc. (these books can apply to the anime styles)

You should've also (considering you didn't mention the two books above, I'm not too suprised) explained timing. Outside of the basic ease in/out, there is more to realize in timing (dope sheets and what not). You should've also mentioned acting, structure, etc.

I can understand that you're not quite at this level yet, or didn't know about these facts and books mentioned. However, you didn't put enough research into it.

You've done better than most tutorials, it'll get people started.

Keep it up, like to see what you do in the future.

Very good point! I might add those books in. i never really thought aobut it.
thank you for your honesty!

lol dope sheets. man im not a "real" animator. i never went school or nothing, I just do whatever it takes to get the job done. thad's all. ultimately, tell a story.

Pretty Good

Since you are going to be updating this, there is no need to give critique. I just hope you do well with this game :)

eBlitz responds:

Thanks, I'll be sure to put a lot of effort into the final version when ever that will be.

Sorry but...

...you haven't got anything substantial here, expect that you know how to use codes.

Otherwise you don't have much to work with here.

It is overall boring, and I'd suggest you have us do more than dress up a rock. How about a character/person/animal/something interesting?

You're not exactly showing a lot of creativity by having us dress a rock.

Keep at it though, and work on something that'll be more substantial. :)

Thanks for the helpful review. Again I made this along time ago as a sort of test and am not planning another. I didnt really expect people to like it, but you never know!

Pretty good

This was pretty good, quite challenging, and indeed neat.

You could've added some sort of weapon that you could acquire and use outside of a pill (not a gun, laser, etc). The chances of getting the items you needed weren't necessarily high enough for me either, which proved to make the game difficult.

Difficulty isn't a bad thing, but you may want to give someone more high chances of succeeding. This way you could even give the option of changing the difficulty.

Keep up the good work. :)

Game tuning is definately a challenge I'm still working to get better at! Thanks for the encouragement!

1-D

This to me was too one dimensional, there was nothing really too it.

The only thing I found interesting, were the sparks that come out of the explosion.

It was a bit more challenging with fireworks following you, but make them do more than just come straight up, have some diagonals, makes it a big more interesting. Unless the bird is the flying directly over a big line of fireworks being lit.

Keep it up, and practice. :)

pieguy48 responds:

Alright, thanks for the review.

Basic

This was a pretty basic game, nothing too big or little. It was too easy in my opinion, and has potential to be more.

Work on artwork, making it a bit more difficult, and generally make it a bit more dynamic.

Keep it up :)
